The sports center is accessible to members of the gym and hotel guests of Hotel Eindhoven. It is therefore for many of them the favorite place of the hotel. Especially after the renovation last year. When you walk into the sports center, you are pleasantly surprised. This is not just a room with some machines. The industrial interior has a raw, urban look with lots of concrete and metal. Sweat is allowed here!
BOKSBALLS
Eyecatcher of the spacious open space is the boxing ring. Here - between the thick ropes - you can challenge your opponent. This showpiece was the idea of hotel director Rick Polman, fourth generation Van der Valk. 'Boxing is incredibly popular and I really enjoy doing it myself,' he says. 'When we started making plans for the new sports center, I knew this had to be in it. It's great to get everything off your chest after a busy day. Great for your body as well as your head!' Several punching balls and large punching bags also hang on the side of the hall. Boxing fit is one of the group classes and is very popular. There are also classes in bodygym, spinning and pilates. Outdoor boot camp and circuit training are given. All classes are led by highly motivated trainers who have been working here for years.
GO FOR IT TO THE MAX
Fitness is done on the latest cardio and strength equipment from Technogym. Rick: 'The great thing is that all these machines have a QR code. By scanning it with your phone, you can see your personal training schedule. This is true at more and more gyms, so you can keep track of your workout from anywhere.' In addition, a personal trainer is available to get the most out of your workout session. Because of its location in Genneper Parken, with many professional sports facilities, Hotel Eindhoven is also popular as a base for training camps of (international) sports teams. So you might just bump into players of the Argentinian field hockey team here.
COZY SPORTS BAR
After your training session, freshen up in the new locker rooms and recover at the cozy bar. Rick: "Because we have a bar in the gym, athletes often linger for a while to have a drink and chat. That is very nice to see. The extended opening hours are also appreciated. We have many business guests who stay with us for longer periods of time and like to come and work out before or after their long workday. Moreover, we are open every day of the year; you don't see that at every gym.' Next to the gym is the heated indoor pool. 'It remains an absolute plus that hotel guests can swim with us,' says Rick. 'We have plans to add another wellness area to that, so the sports and wellness offerings are complete!'
