LET THE GRILLING SEASON BEGIN
Now that summer is back in full swing, it's time to be outside as much as possible. Enjoy long summer evenings together with tasty drinks and good food from the grill.

There is something 'cozy' about eating outside. Chef Marty Casteleijn of Van der Valk Hotel Gilze-Tilburg also loves it. 'It means that the beautiful season has arrived again. And we celebrate that by being together and eating. On the grill you can easily prepare something for everyone. No matter what your taste is. You can do anything with it!'
NOT ONLY FOR MEAT EATERS
In these times, when many people eat less or no meat or fish at all, grilling is also a perfect way to prepare vegetarian dishes. Because grilling is so much more than preparing a hamburger or a sausage. Marty: "Think for example of a whole celeriac that, wrapped in aluminum foil, you can nicely roast. But a dessert is also excellent to prepare on the grill. How about a piece of pineapple with some chocolate and Baileys or amaretto on top?'
These three top dishes show that grilling can be very varied. And, of course, they are all equally tasty.
JUMBO GARNALS
A perfect dish to eat with friends on the terrace. Add some bread, sauce, a glass of wine and, of course, eat the shrimp with your hands!
Marty: 'Marinate the shrimp about 12 hours in advance in the Jamaican jerk marinade and then put the shrimp on the grill. It depends on the size how long they take to cook, but if they have a nice red color on both sides, they're perfect.'
ENTRECORE
Marty: 'As a real meat lover, I like red meat. When the fat of the sirloin steak is well-baked and then seasoned with enough salt and pepper, it's best for me.'
Probably not everyone likes red meat, so be sure to also ask how your guest prefers to eat their sirloin steak. The sirloin steak doesn't need much more than a little sauce and, of course - the classic - some herb butter.
VEGETABLES
"These vegetable skewers of pointed bell pepper, mild green pepper, zucchini and eggplant only need some olive oil, pepper and salt. With just some naan bread and a fresh sauce on the side, you're all set."
