Sonya: "Our first meeting was years ago on the train. Ramon had seen me sitting there and when I got off the train he gave me a piece of newspaper on which he had written his phone number. I was quite charmed by that and then sent him a message. We sent some texts back and forth, but eventually our contact got watered down and it never came to a date. A few years later we ran into each other again; it turned out we worked for the same - large - software company. We both remembered that we had chatted all that time ago. It clicked so well between us that we soon became more than just colleagues. Fortunately, that was no problem at work.
We are now parents of Yuna (3), are expecting our second child and got married last spring. The wedding proposal was very special. Ramon had arranged a surprise balloon flight and asked me, high in the sky, to marry him. Even though he is afraid of heights! That made it even more special.

Our wedding day, May 19, 2023, was really perfect. We had been together for exactly ten years that day. We were a bit worried about the weather, but fortunately the weather turned out fine. We gathered with all the guests at Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad, where we also spent the night with some of our guests. The beautiful appearance and atmosphere of this hotel suit us perfectly; we like a bit of luxury. From here we took a bus to our wedding location on the Staverden estate in Ermelo. Our daughter had a special role that day; she brought us the wedding rings and was bridesmaid together with her niece. After a good party with lots of dancing, we went back to Hotel Lelystad with some of our wedding guests. The next morning we had an extensive breakfast and were able to relax by the pool. That was the perfect ending for us.'
